Our educational classes are designed to empower our community be more resourceful, resilient & sustainable. We cover a wide range of topics, and have classes for all skill levels. Our team of volunteers & staff will guide your through hands-on reuse projects, home improvements, and eco-friendly building tips & tricks. Come with a willingness to learn and leave with skills & knowledge you can immediately put to use!

Home Performance Workshops

Learn how to improve your HOME from the experts.

  • The goal of our Home Performance Workshops Series is to help homeowners better understand and improve the conditions which impact their home’s efficiency, durability, safety and indoor air quality.

  • Activities-Staff members & skilled volunteers present information in a classroom setting. Instructors guide participants through hands-on exercises that enable them to identify problems and implement solutions.

  • As a participant you will learn hands-on skills, how to improve your home, and achieve a greater understanding of material reuse and sustainability.

  • Requirements: Attendees must be 18 years or older, or be accompanied by an adult. Participants do not need any previous experience.

Do-It-Yourself Workshops

Learn useful skills while working hands-on with tools.

  • The goal of our Do-It-Yourself Workshops is to teach individuals how to incorporate reclaimed materials into their home projects or further extend the life of materials already installed. These workshops often focus on creative reuse for both practical and artistic applications.

  • Activities: Past projects have included re-purposing pallets as both décor and furnishings, small garden design-build projects, bird houses, bat boxes, corn-hole boards, and many other amazing and imaginative uses for salvaged materials.

  • As a participant you will gain confidence and skill through the guided use of hand tools and power tools, as well as best practice techniques. You will have opportunities to be creative, and think outside of the box. You will achieve a greater understanding of reuse, and sustainability.

  • Requirements: Attendees must be 18 years or older, or be accompanied by an adult. Workshop participants do not need any previous construction or woodworking experience.
